Cozumel ha honrado a San Miguel Arcángel como su patrono desde 1848. \nOne of the most important religious celebrations in Cozumel is the festival honoring San Miguel Arcángel since he is the patron saint of the town of San Miguel de Cozumel. The celebrations begin with colorful processions that leave the church of San Miguel and pass through the city. During this time residents attend mass and participate in daily processions wearing hipiles\, typical Mayan costumes. Cozumel has honored Saint Michael the Archangel as its patron saint since 1848.

Both residents and visitors gather around the Municipal Palace to participate in the traditional shout of Independence\, led by the Municipal President of Cozumel\, from the balcony of the Palace at 11:00 at night. DESCRIPTION:Cultura Viva que difunde tradiciones a través de la música\, la danza\, el arte\, la ciencia y la gastronomía\, esta celebración es en honor a la Diosa de Ixchel en Isla Cozumel; así como en tiempos de los antiguos mayas en cada luna llena\, en ese tiempo donde el fuego se encendía para verla renacer\, se hace remembranza con talleres de medicina maya y epigrafía\, conferencias presenciales y en línea con ponentes expertos en cultura maya\, proyecciones en el Domo inmersivo. El domingo es la gran fiesta de Ixchel\, con actividades simultáneas en Pueblo del Maíz y la procesión que da nombre a nuestro evento. Se lleva a cabo el Mercado Artesanal “U K’inil K’iiwik” con la participación de productores locales con una oferta de productos artesanales y orgánicos\, venta de alimentos tradicionales preparados por la localidad de Cozumel. Seguido por la procesión encabezada por danzantes al ritmo del tambor\, y como es tradición\, con cantos y danza para tejer pasos en una ruta de 7km rumbo a Pueblo del Maíz donde las ofrendas\, la danza y los cantos en honor a la venerable Ixchel se darán lugar en su Santuario. En la noche con nuestro Pibil Nah\, Temazcal de Luna\, se celebra la medicina con las esencias curativas de la medicina tradicional maya. \nLiving Culture that spreads traditions through music\, dance\, art\, science and gastronomy\, this celebration is in honor of the Goddess of Ixchel on Cozumel Island; Just as in the times of the ancient Mayans\, on each full moon\, at that time when the fire was lit to see it reborn\, remembrance is made with workshops on Mayan medicine and epigraphy\, in-person and online conferences with expert speakers in Mayan culture\, projections in the immersive Dome. Sunday is the great festival of Ixchel\, with simultaneous activities in Pueblo del Maíz and the procession that gives its name to our event. The “U K’inil K’iiwik” Artisanal Market is held with the participation of local producers with an offer of artisanal and organic products\, sale of traditional foods prepared by the town of Cozumel. Followed by the procession led by dancers to the rhythm of the drum\, and as is tradition\, with songs and dance to weave steps on a 7km route towards Pueblo del Maíz where the offerings\, dance and songs in honor of the venerable Ixchel are. They will take place in their Sanctuary. At night with our Pibil Nah\, Temazcal de Luna\, medicine is celebrated with the healing essences of traditional Mayan medicine. \n

Vive una de las tradiciones más antiguas de la era prehispánica con Parque Xcaret y Parque Chankanaab. El punto de salida de La Travesía Sagrada Maya es en la Bahía Dos Playas en Xcaret (parque eco-arqueológico) y el final es en la caleta en el Parque Chankanaab en Cozumel\, un trayecto total de 62.6 kilómetros\, con el único fin de honrar a la diosa Ixchel. \nThe pilgrimage that the Mayan canoeists made to the Island of Cozumel to worship the goddess Ixchel. Experience one of the oldest traditions from the pre-Hispanic era with Xcaret Park and Chankanaab Park. The starting point of the Sacred Mayan Journey is in Bahía Dos Playas in Xcaret (eco-archaeological park) and the end is in the cove in Chankanaab Park in Cozumel\, a total journey of 62.6 kilometers\, with the sole purpose of to the goddess Ixchel.

Esta fiesta comienza los últimos días del mes de abril y finaliza el 3 de mayo\, día de los albañiles y de la Santa Cruz. Durante estos días\, se hacen misas\, rosarios y bailes folklóricos. Por otro lado\, el poblado del Cedral se llena de fiesta\, la feria se hace presente\, un ruedo es el anfitrión de las corridas de toros\, así como de los artistas invitados. \nThe Cedral festival in Cozumel is celebrated in the town of “El Cedral”.
